IdentiCat is an interdisciplinary research group composed of sociolinguists, historians and specialists in cultural policies, literature, art and cultural studies. They share interest in contemporary identity building and subjectivity articulation processes, with a predominant focus on the Catalan identity. They explore how growing mobility, the tertiarization of the economy, consumerism and the creation of digital networks cause profound transformations in the way people and institutions articulate their connectedness with society and their institutions, and also transform how people construct their subjectivities through art, literature and other forms of expression.
